Our Story
Physicians Business Academy began as a vision, and the visionary was Dr. David Helfman; a true “Doctorpreneur”, with a unique passion for business and education.
It all started in 1992 when Dr. Helfman graduated and realized that the current medical practice models are poorly designed. A solo practitioner at that time, he was committed to reinventing the business of medicine and building a model that benefits and rewards not only the physicians, but also their families, partners, and employees. Village Podiatry Group (now Extremity Healthcare) was born and has since been growing at 40% annually and been nominated the fastest growing healthcare company in Georgia.
Dr. Helfman has always believed in giving as a path to success and has helped many physicians improve their business knowledge to succeed. However, it became very hard for him to do so on a one-on-one level and that’s why he started Physicians Business Academy. The Academy helped Dr. Helfman make his intellectual capital and knowledge available to a much larger number of physicians.
