Testimonials about the 2-Day Physician MBA and Dr. David Helfman

Dr. Helfman,

We would like to thank you for having us this past weekend at the PBA Four Seasons. We both took down about 3 pages of notes. Now we have to go back through our notes and implement some actions. We really enjoyed the PBA and also think you made a great choice to bring on Dr. Anthony Gatti. He is a wealth of knowledge. I am sure, I will be picking his brain for some months to come.  Look forward to the next meeting.

Sincerely,

Karl Bruschayt, MBA

The Physicians Business Academy has helped our practice on many facets.  It helps put physicians in a better business set of mind and broadens horizons.  The Academy has helped to increase our bottom line of production and has sparked a new attitude with our staff.  The work that Dr. Helfman is doing is the future of how to not only survive in medicine, but how to thrive.  Being involved in PBA is a must for any physician entrepreneur.

“Having grown a group practice with ancillaries over the past 12 years, our group had arguably “hit the ceiling”. Dr. Helfman’s PBA program has injected a level of enthusiasm and direction that our group desperately needed. Dr. Helfman is a true visionary, not just in podiatry, but in business in general. We have appreciated his honesty, his leadership, and the overall value his program has delivered to our group. Many thanks!!”

“I’ve been in practice for 39 years – I can tell you I have been to many, many seminars and have heard a lot of talks in my career.  Many were good, few were excellent and only a handful was amazing. Dr. Helfman’s course is among the very few that were amazing!  If you don’t wish to work hard, save your money. These kinds of talks will only work for the go-getters!  But if you wish to see horizons you never dreamed of then take the courses!  Whoever works hard after applying only a handful of the nuggets can easily pay for the course. Whoever works even harder can make many times the cost of the course!”

“Our merger with VPC was one of the top highlights of my 23 years of practice. Simply conducting the business of our previous practice was an arduous task, one which none of us were prepared to fulfill effectively. We focused our time and attention on our patients, and our business suffered accordingly. Following our merger, I have found that my time at the office is far less stressful, and we have also become more profitable. I have seen both sides of the practice world, and our life with VPC has been a most rewarding experience. As the CEO of Village Podiatry Centers, David Helfman has shown great vision, and under his direction this group has become the largest podiatry practice in the country. The practice model that he has created has been a great success story, and our doctors are all the beneficiaries of his talents and abilities.”

Alan Banks, Village Podiatry Centers, PC.

After 33 years in private practice I never expected to consider joining another group.  After insidiously watching my patient population shift to other practices, due to insurance contracts and large hospital takeovers, I realized I needed help to compete.  Village Podiatry Centers had all the necessary resources and personnel in place to promote my practice, manage my insurance contracts, and reach a wider population of patients.  VPC’s model would allow me to remain successful.  My biggest fear was losing personal income due to expenses that I couldn’t control.  That has all now been laid to rest as the compensation model, along with ancillary bonuses have well exceeded my expectations. Prior to joining I had major concerns because of the uncertainty.  Now after working with VPC for the last six months, my only regret is that I did not join sooner.

To have vision is a gift to implement it takes courage and extreme dedication.  In the last 25 years I have watched Dr. Helfman carefully plot his course for the future. With the dramatic changes in our health care delivery system he has managed to predict the future of medicine and stay ahead of the curve.  I am excited about the direction he has chosen for our company and I am looking forward to many more successful years of practice under his guidance.

Dr. Helfman is an inspirational individual whose vision for growth is unmatched in our profession.  He sees podiatry in so many different lights, and he is always looking to improve the way we do business.  He is also very honest and trustworthy.  Dr. Helfman maintains individual relationships with all of the physicians whether partner or associate.  He truly wants all of his doctors to be successful financially, and to lead fulfilling lives, both personally and professionally.

I think the VPC model is very unique.  It affords all physicians the ability to advance their careers while at the same time to make a great living.  It holds all physicians to the same standards, and the expectations for each physician are clearly outlined.  VPC is very transparent and the opportunity to succeed is limitless!

I asked myself all these questions and made the decision to come to VPG, because I lived the other side and it is very frustrating and demoralizing.  I have come to VPG to secure myself financially and to improve the company.

As many of you know I worked for the competition and took more than a 10 -20 K cut to come here in my 5th year of practice to start as a first year associate at VPC. It has been the best move I have ever made in my professional career to join VPC where people are honest, straight forward and transparent.  These were my motives for switching groups.  My income had quadrupled after my 2nd year with Village Podiatry Centers and my personal and professional lives have improved dramatically.

David, I see these as your unique abilities that lead to all our success. It is not one thing but a compilation of factors that come together to work for you:

Tenacity
Pursuant to no end, you are constant in your efforts, and you believe that you will outlive your competition and through that tenacity, you will prevail.

Flexibility
When you do not find the way that you were seeking, you take detours to get there and do not stop at no.

Optimism
Eternal in your outlook, nothing is bad except contempt from others.

Destiny
You create your own world, and refuse to live in anyone else’s.

Compassion

You give others first-right-of-expression – what they do with it is up to them.

David:

You have a unique ability to combine business with medicine. Most of us in the medical field do not have the ability to do both, nor do we desire to do both. You, on the other hand have the ability to combine both to your advantage. You use podiatry as a base to build all of your other interests; podiatry is a conduit to your other “real interests.”  I, as all of the other partners in VPG will agree, depend on your keen business insights to run and manage our group and bring it to its next level. Everyone groans when you want to expand the group, but we all would not have it any other way; we depend on you for growth and guidance.  The thing that impresses me the most about you is that you are not selfish; most of your “deals” usually include other people, giving them a chance at building wealth. You are good at using “OPM” (other people’s money); you win and we win. It doesn’t get any better than that!  Aside from work, I think you have a genuine care for people, especially children.  I think you need more family time, though and I think you are working on that.

David
Thank you for organizing the conference which we found to be very useful. Although the practice of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry does in our opinion lend itself to “super group” formation, many of the underlying business
principles and practice are valuable. Best wishes for future sucess with PBA.Paul & Maryann DAgincourt

Dr. Helfman,

First of all I would like to sincerely say thank you for putting on such a fantastic conference. I found it to be incredibly eye-opening, inspiring, and I hope it will be transformational in my practice and in my personal life. I’ve bought the book “Traction” and started reading
it last night.  I’ve been in solo practice for approximately 13 years now.Over these years I have enjoyed a regular and steady growth of my practice and revenues grew upward of $750K until the past two years when I hit the dreaded plateau. After attending your conference, I now
realize that I have essentially neglected 100% of the business side of my practice. All of the growth I have seen was based purely on my ability to practice high quality podiatric medicine and my staff and I consistently delivering high quality customer service. But that is
about the extent of it.  No planning, no marketing, no strategy, no direction……nothing.

I would like to change all of that. That is why I signed up to be part of your mentorship program.
